CBPhysio Case Study , Achilles Tendon Injury in an Athlete

Case Study

Alex suffered an Achilles Tendon injury just as she was training hard for her second season in triathlon. After 8 weeks off for a fractured rib Alex had made the classic mistake of returning to high intensity training unprepared. She turned up at CBPhysio with significant tendon damage and was finding walking painful. After a course of intense hands on physio and ultrasound, combined with a specific rehab training program, Alex made a strong recovery and competed in the standard distance triathlons achieving PB times. Alex has since commented that understanding the recovery phases and milestones helped her commit to rehab, be patient and focus on the end goal.

You are welcome to view the Achilles Rehab Program and the Run Walk Program that Alex followed.
